Maximising Our Revenue Through Sponsorship: In Conversation With AM Soccer Club | SNAP Sponsorship | Sports Sponsorship

News

What's happening at SNAP? What are clubs and businesses achieving with sponsorship? More about the world of sponsorship.......

We recently spoke with Andrew from AM Soccer Club, based in Fife Scotland. AM Soccer is a community football club that have a membership of over 300 players aged from 18 months to over 70 years old! With a reputation for developing players, they are proud to have been awarded the Scottish Football Association Quality Mark Status.

Having been a SNAP user for nine months, we wanted to speak with Andrew and see how he had found using SNAP, and the benefits it had for AM Soccer in managing their sponsorship portfolio.

Traditional Sponsors, Un-Traditional Opportunities

AM Soccer already had existing sponsors when signing up with SNAP and have since been able to increase their sponsorship revenue utilising the platform. Having a pre-existing partnership as a main club sponsor, Andrew was looking to supplement this partnership, and speaking with the team at SNAP identified new assets that could have opportunities to sponsor, such as their pavilion, walking football programme, First Aid Course delivery and social media graphics that generate a lot of engagement on their channels.

The automation of SNAPs social media sharing tool allowed Andrew to set up posts to promote the club’s opportunities and gained two new sponsors straight away that they already had a connection with! One of the three most popular ways we see clubs increase their sponsorship is existing connections that weren’t aware of the opportunities available to sponsors. For AM Soccer, their partners saw the post, discovered the opportunities and sponsored the club, from a simple pre-scheduled post!

The current priorities for AM Soccer club are to push some new opportunities and to look after their existing sponsorship deals, ensuring that all activations are completed in order to have a smooth re-negotiation process when the deals are up for renewal. When a deal has been properly activated and the sponsor is happy, it’s a good time to speak with them and see if you can be introduced to other businesses within their remit. So, whilst you may have a modest sum in the first year, if a deal is properly executed there will be opportunities to grow with the initial sponsors and with similar businesses that you can be referred on to!
