Our main mission is to increase participation for women in rugby through enjoyment, passion, and desire.
We strive to craft a partnership with our sponsors that meets their specific objectives, whether that be community gifting, social responsibility (CSR), direct sales or brand building.
Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.
Why Sponsor Us?
Increased brand awareness, raising the profile of your business across our community
In order to increase our membership, playing opportunities and pay for travel and entry to an increasing number of international competitions; we’re keen to build relationships with local and national businesses and work alongside you to explore opportunities and mutual benefits.
Rugby sevens is a globally growing sport:
2016 – The Rio Olympics saw that rugby sevens was the most socially-engaged rugby sevens event of all time. There were 16.83 million new fans worldwide, particularly among women and the 18–24 age group, as they were attracted by what they saw at the Olympic Games.
Olympic Year – World Rugby Sevens generated more total engagements across social media platforms (11.02 million) than all of the other surveyed sporting bodies combined at the last Olympics.
The Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco saw 100,000 fans across three days create an incredible atmosphere inside the AT&T Park, with a US broadcast audience of 9 million tuning in.
The 24/7 Series – A national competition of 18–35-year-olds with 35 qualifying tournaments, 500 teams, 6,000 players.
Sponsoring us will raise the profile of your business and benefit you in the following ways:
- Exposure to hundreds in the local area and players and spectators from visiting teams
- Publicity globally when we play in international competitions
- Mentions in local papers
- Increased brand awareness across our social media accounts
- You’ll be empowering women in sport who are under-funded compared to men
- Satisfaction from giving back to and supporting the local community.

Help to empower women and forge an equal playing field through sponsorship
Since May 2022, Savvy have had 119 players represent the Programme. Out of the 119, 53 of these players are signed with Premiership Women's Clubs. Traditionally a male dominated sport, women’s Rugby Sevens is growing in popularity and influence, but the women’s game is still restricted and lacks funding.
Sport can benefit all girls and women and it can be a life changer in countries where gender discrimination and inequality are particularly widespread. The link between female leadership and competitive sports has been well-documented. A 2015 study of 400 female C-suite executives conducted by espnW and EY found an undeniable correlation between athletic and business success: more than half (52%) of the C-Level execs surveyed played sport at university level, compared to 39% of women at other management levels. That same study reports that 80% of female Fortune 500 executives played competitive sports at one point in their lives.
Sponsoring women's sport involves much more than a financial investment in players because it demonstrates an investment in equality and meaningful change within the sporting arena.
With such large audiences of women's sporting events; sponsorship can help leverage equal visibility – and this can help drive further female participation in sport.
By supporting early talent, grassroots clubs and elite programmes like ours, companies help increase the number of girls and women participating in sport – and this has both a long-term benefit of creating star players and also a short-term benefit in increasing confidence, teamwork and health.

Who Are We?
Creating Elite opportunities for Women in Rugby Sevens in the UK
Savvy Sevens was established in 2022, by myself Fin Kelly, aged 22. For the last 2 years, I have also fully funded and run the development and growth of our Programme.
Savvy Sevens is the UK’s only elite invitational rugby sevens programme established and solely operating for women. Our main mission is to increase participation for women in rugby through enjoyment, passion and desire.
Whilst ensuring that we are providing as many opportunities as possible for our players, we maintain the ‘Elite’ approach in everything that we do. For example, this year we hosted two training days at Chester RUFC in partnership with The Athlete Factory which is owned by Phil Greening of USA Rugby 7s. We then competed in the UK Super Sevens Series, whilst also competing abroad at Gibraltar 7s and Dubai 7s.
As of next season, we are growing our Programme. Next year we will have three Senior Elite Squads competing throughout the 7s Season:
- The Savvy Panthers – Prioritising the UK Super Sevens Series.
- The Savvy Pumas – Competing in 6-7 Elite Competitions including Internationally.
- The Savvy Universities – An Elite selected squad in partnership with the English Universities. This Squad will also be attending the Home Nations University Competition.
For the first time ever, we will also be establishing an Elite Sevens Academy for the U18s age group. This young group of Elite players will train and compete as part of the Savvy Academy whilst also representing their Premiership Club's Centre of Excellence and England U18s.
We are seeking both sponsors and partners to help make this all a reality. We are looking for a title sponsor/partner to oversee the growth of Savvy, as well as 'sub' sponsors to help support the growth of the Academy and University Pathway under the Savvy umbrella.
Aspirations
With membership and crowd attendances rising, we have ambitious plans to continue to grow our teams, develop our U18s squad and compete in more international competitions.
Naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all of our partners to benefit from our ever-expanding audience and our community and charity involvement.
