About the Inspiring Steps Programme

Apex, working in partnership with Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership, is transforming the lives of young people across Hertfordshire through the Inspiring Steps programme.

Each year, over 250 young people will take part — including 150 Level 2 Sports Leaders and 100 Level 3 Sports Leaders — gaining nationally recognised qualifications while volunteering thousands of hours in community sports clubs.

These future changemakers develop confidence, leadership, and life skills, all while strengthening community sport at the grassroots level.

We’re seeking four headline sponsors — each investing £10,000 — from non-competing companies ready to make a measurable difference to young lives.

The 20 Under 20 Awards celebrate Hertfordshire’s top 20 volunteer sports leaders under 20 — those making an exceptional impact in their schools, clubs, and communities.

As a not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC), Apex reinvests 100% of sponsorship funds directly back into community benefit.
