About us:
Welcome to the official SNAP profile of Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club.
Who Are We?
Sheffield Collegiate CC, founded in 1881 and based at Abbeydale Park, is one of the area's oldest clubs. Since 1921, it has also hosted Yorkshire and Derbyshire County Cricket Clubs. The club is proud to have produced top cricketers like Michael Vaughan, Joe Root, and umpire Richard Kettleborough.
With 60+ senior members, the club fields six adult teams, including the 2023 ECB Premier League Southern champions and a Women's team in the Yorkshire W&G League. The junior section includes 25+ teams and the 2024 Ben Jessop U18 Cup winners. Past honors include seven Yorkshire League titles, the 2000 National Club Competition, and the 2023 ECB Yorkshire South Premier League.
The Root Academy Cricket Programme trains young players (6-18), while partnerships with local schools promote the sport. The growing Women and Girls section welcomes all abilities, with hardball and softball teams. New players, sponsors, and volunteers are always welcome to join the club's success.
